Let’s dive into some of the most frequently asked questions:

What is the Role of Engine Oil?

Engine oil adheres to the entire moving part of the engine and forms a thin film, reducing friction and wear, which means more power is transferred to the wheels, allowing for easy movement. Thanks to the detergents it contains, engine oil helps to clean the engine, protects it against rust, and also helps to reduce some of the extreme heat around the cylinders to the crankcase.

Why is the choice of engine oil so important?

Engine oil is like blood circulating in your veins for your car's engine. Therefore, choosing the wrong engine oil may cause some undesirable problems such as wear, corrosion and deposit formation. You will be able to prevent such problems that may occur in your engine by choosing the appropriate engine oil for your vehicle.

When to Change Engine Oil?

While the vehicles used every day change in a shorter time, if the vehicle is used infrequently, the engine oil will last longer. The fuel savings that come with the use of the right oil also affect the choices. As the usage situation in vehicles may be different, it is recommended to change the engine oil together with the oil filter after 10-15 thousand km. Thus, the performance of the vehicle can be increased. In addition, the engine oil is selected according to the climatic conditions in which the change is made. It will be much better to use synthetic oil in cold seasons.

What is Mineral Oil?

It is produced by adding the necessary additive packages into the base oils obtained by re-refining the bottom product obtained by distillation of crude oil. They are generally cheaper and offer average performance.

What is Synthetic Oil?

It is produced by adding the necessary additive packages into synthetic base oils obtained by various chemical processes under laboratory conditions. Synthetic base oil, which is the raw material of synthetic oils, has a high cost because it is produced through intensive processes with advanced technology. However, they provide both better performance and longer use. It has high thermal endurance. They perform their lubrication duties for longer periods and are more resistant to higher and lower temperatures, high pressure and strain.

What is the main purpose of lubrication?

To minimize the friction between two metal surfaces.

What is viscosity?

It is resistance to fluidity. Its unit is mm²/s or Centistoke (cSt), expressed at a certain temperature.

What is the viscosity index?

It is a chart that shows how much an oil will thin under high heat conditions and what kind of performance changes will occur. The higher the viscosity index figure, the less thin the oil will be under high temperature conditions.

What is brake fluid?

Brake fluid is the fluid that transmits the force generated when you press the brake pedal to the brake system and provides braking. It is used to transfer force to pressure and increase braking force.
